Welded Masonry Joist Hangers are designed to support timber joists built in to brick or block walls with a minimum crushing strength of 3.5N/mm. These welded masonry joist hangers differs as Standard hangers, Return hangers and Straddle hangers. They can also be used in timber to timber, timber to steel and timber to masonry applications. They are usually made with pre-galvanised steel, but also available in stainless steel.
Standard Welded Masonry Joist Hangers
It is also suitable for many timber to timber and for timber to steel applications. The masonry flange should be securely fixed to the timber or to steel beams using appropriate fixings.

Welded Return Masonry Joist Hangers
Welded Return Joist Hanger is designed for similar applications and installation as the standard Masonry Joist Hanger above. It has a special return, which adds additional lateral support by wrapping around the back of the masonry or timber. There is a 25mm drop on the return flange as standard. These hangers are usually made from 2.4mm thick pre-Galvanised steel, but also available in stainless steel.
Fixing instructions are the same as above for the Standard Hanger.
Welded Straddle Masonry Joist Hangers
The Masonry Straddle hanger is two hangers joined together by a plate on the masonry flange to enable exact alignment of two joists positioned directly opposite each other on either side of a wall or beam. They are made from 2.4mm thick Galvanised steel, and also available in stainless steel.
Fixing instructions are the same as above for the Standard Hanger.
